A night on the town with @milestonesxrds and @hummingbird604
Milestones Crossroads (located in the Crossroads neighbourhood, near Broadway and Cambie on 8th Avenue, has quickly become one of my absolute favorite restaurants. I recently had dinner there with JT. I have had brunch there with my friend Tris Hussey and visited a few other times, in addition to my birthday dinner of last year (chances are that I’ll be celebrating my birthday at Milestones Crossroads this year again). And they recently approached me to do a “Night On The Town” giveaway, which I really love the idea of. I am sure you have heard of the show Cavalia, which has had a very successful ride in Vancouver.
Partnering with Milestones Crossroads I’m giving away a $50 gift certificate for dinner and 2 tickets to the show Cavalia for Wednesday May 4th. The winner will be able to redeem their certificate for dinner on Wednesday and then pick up their tickets for Cavalia then.
To enter this giveaway, why don’t you tell me the ONE thing you like the most about Vancouver or in other words, why you love Vancouver? I am pretty sure it’s not going to be the weather, quite honestly! The weather has been horrible, but this city is just so beautiful. AND you need to check the view from Milestones Crossroads. Most amazing.
To gain another entry into my contest you can post the text below on Twitter. I will be drawing random winners tomorrow, Tuesday May 3rd, at 7pm.
Told @hummingbird604 why I love Vancouver 2 enter 2 win dinner at @milestonesxrds & Cavalia tickets. Your can too! http://is.gd/wRNA7t
Be prepared to respond to my email or check the comments on my post so that you know if you won. I’ll compile all entries via Twitter and count a comment AND a tweet as 2 entries, and a tweet only or a comment only as one. Good luck! This will be an amazing prize ($400 in value!)

Oh I SOOOOO badly want to see Cavalia!!!
I don’t love any one thing about Vancouver. It is simply the best place on Earth! It wouldn’t be as beautiful without all of our liquid sunshine.
There are so many things I love about Vancouver! Mostly I love the mountains and being so close to the water
I would absolutely love to see Cavalia, watching the previews on tv just isn’t the same
I love Vancouver because we have mild winters, gorgeous summers, and you can ski and kayak in the same day! (I agree, the view from Milestones Crossroads is amazing!)
I love the mild winters, UBC, the ocean, ready access to the mountains, and the character of the neighbourhoods. Let me count the ways!
skimboarding at wreck beach…talk about freedom
Your questions are always so hard! But wonderfully so! The one thing I love the most about Vancouver is Commercial Drive: love the people, the great grocery shopping, great dining, cheap but delicious Asian and Lebanese food as far as the eye can see, and the big gorgeous wood houses along the side streets.
Vancouver is very dog-friendly. There are lots of dog lovers and dog parks around.
It’s so hard to pick only one thing I love about this wonderful city of ours… I guess if I had to pick one thing I love about Vancouver is the mild winters we are lucky to have. I absolutely HATE the cold (especially after having lived in Montreal and Winnipeg) so I was so happy when my mom decided to move here 11 years ago.
You know, what I like best about Vancouver isn’t the weather, it’s the CLIMATE. Really. I can’t handle the heat, can’t abide the cold…and damp winters force me into a very limited range of haircuts, a couple of which look totally great on me. So yeah, climate.
I love the people in Vancouver. In spite of constantly hearing otherwise, I find the people in Vancouver to be some of the most friendly anywhere in the world. They’re fantastic.
I love Vancouver because even right after a shocking election, we can all rally behind the Canucks (no matter what party you support).
The many options in food is one reason why Vancouver is great!
i love everything about vancouver, but mostly the food
the VANCOUVER CANUCKS!
Vancouver has a vibrancy that incubates cool ideas. People here are open to possibilities rather than the “no’s”.
Want to just sit and think about your possibilities – we have an abundance of outdoor places to think and ponder (and they come with a view) . Or if you want to meet with friends and banter ideas around a bit – we have many outstanding restaurants that are for every budget. Or do you need to do some research? Vancouver Public Library is welcoming and filled with top-notch resource.
Vancouver has it all!
the local artists.
I love the fact that Vancouver has everything you could want in a City–Great people, beautiful scenery, outdoor activities, great shopping,

Ever since I immigrated in 1987, I have loved Vancouver for it’s accepting and multicultural attitudes. It is truly a melting pot! As a result, we have some of the best international cuisine! There are not enough days in the year to try them all

It is also the season are Vancouver Canucks take the ice! I would say they are my favorite part of living in this great city! Over all best place on earth =)

Any beach, mid summer, playing bocce with a BBQ going and a beer in plastic cup. This is the kind of place made for vacation and we live here! We delayed our honeymoon because why leave Vancouver in the height of summer glory? Man I love this city!
