Rogers Chocolates (The Village at Park Royal, West Vancouver)
Oh. Dear. God. How I love chocolates. My intern (and Project Manager) Anabelle recently gave me a box of Rogers Chocolates because she knew I was having a really rough time. And as it turns out, they did pick me up (thanks Anabelle).
I was also recently invited to the opening of Rogers Chocolates at the Village at Park Royal, in West Vancouver. As you may remember (since I trekked there for Cory Monteith, Bonnie Dunne and Pinkberry Canada), I’m a fan of The Village at Park Royal, and it’s growing with some great businesses coming to this lovely mall in West Vancouver. And I’m also a fan of Rogers Chocolates, having already blogged about them here.
When I got invited by Rogers Chocolate to their opening, I met up for a drink after the opening with my good friend Arieanna Schweber. Arieanna lives really close by to the village at Park Royal, also attended the opening and already has posted something about the event itself. I was slow with my blog post, because I’ve been pretty overwhelmed. Anyhow, I love Rogers Chocolates. And I’m glad we went to the opening because I got some sample treats. I would totally trek up to The Village at Park Royal for chocolates if I am in need of a “pick me up”.
The first Rogers’ chocolates were made in 1885 by Charles “Candy” Rogers in the back of his grocery store in Victoria, B.C. He quickly became a popular man. In 1891, Rogers expanded his chocolate operation to the company’s current heritage storefront on Government Street in Victoria and the rest, as they say, is history. Today, we have 8 retail stores, several hundred wholesale outlets ship to over 50 countries, and a 20,000 square-foot factory. [Rogers' History Page]
