My Vancouver 2010 Olympic coverage
I mentioned recently that I had been invited to the opening of the Pride House. I also attended the launch of the House of Switzerland, was invited to the Filipino Bungalo opening night, and have been in general generously offered several opportunities to cover pre-Olympics events. The problem is, I teach at UBC Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and Thursdays I teach downtown 1-5pm.
Also, I find myself some Saturdays teaching 9 am to 12 pm. Thus, my opportunities to attend events and do some live coverage are dramatically reduced. This will, of course, change this coming couple of weeks, as UBC will be closed and I will have more time to do some coverage.
Since I didn’t know if I was going to be in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics, I didn’t make much effort to get myself access to Pavilions and Houses. That said, I’m very flattered and touched that many folks have taken it upon themselves to keep me in the loop and inviting me to cover their Olympics-related stuff. I am hoping readers of Hummingbird604.com will have a bunch of Olympic stuff covered (I am particularly interested in the Cultural Olympiad).
So, stay tuned!

That’s awesome Raul! Although, if you find you can’t attend an event.. keep in mind that you’re good buddy from Richmond would step up if he’s available. Just sayin’.. =)
Very excited to see your coverage Raul! Wohooo! I’m so pumped it’s not even funny.
