Theatre Under the Stars at Malkin Bowl

Theatre Under the Stars When I first moved to Vancouver I wondered what to do, and people who were doing their MBA coursework with me recommended Theatre Under the Stars. An institution in Vancouver, Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) has been the source of amazing entertainment and great theatrical performances. This summer, the TUTS season goes from July 9th to August 21st.

Theatre Under the Stars With performances alternating nights, Theatre Under the Stars is presenting two very fun productions: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Singin’ in the Rain. Joseph opens today (July 13th) and Singin’ opens on July 14th (tomorrow). I didn’t realize this is TUTS’ 64th year. Wow. As you may know, Theatre Under the Stars is a non-profit organization with a family-focus. I am excited to check their two productions in August.

Theatre Under the Stars I can’t make it in July as I’m still on holidays and away from Vancouver, with my Mom. But if you can, this is one of the most exciting performances you’ll see this summer. I would very, very strongly recommend you to buy tickets and attend, even with a Picnic in the Park Under the Stars. Best priced seats start at $29, and there is a number of family packages. Becoming a TUTS member also increases your savings! I look forward to doing some Theatre Under the Stars, and hope you will too.

Oh, awesome! I’ve have never actually been to TUTS before. It’s really odd. Dan hasn’t either, I’d love to take him to SITR. It’s one of his favourite musicals. <3

I saw the preview of “Singin’ in the Rain” last Saturday. They made a good effort at it but I wonder at the choice of material given that the original on DVD is widely available and so much better. I have seen the movie too many times perhaps, and this was my first visit to TUTS.

We saw Joseph yesterday and it was outstanding. They really created a different version of the original show which I saw 20 years ago. The energy was amazing and the audience (or child) participation was a great idea.
