Things to do over a ferry ride
Since BC Ferries still hasn’t set up wireless on their vessels, and given that I am not about to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a data plan (because, let’s face it, with a data plan I’d be online ALL THE TIME), I decided to do some off-line blogging, as well as catching up on my reading. Did some client work, and I also began rearranging my photographs (now with the iPhone I take hundreds) and organizing them by event, people I hung out with, etc.
When you take the ferry over to or back from Vancouver Island, what do you normally do?

I write letters to BC Ferries asking them to put wifi on their vessels :-). Then I take some time to look outside at the AMAZING scenery. I also usually use o visit the gift shop and buy a guilty pleasure (not THAT guilty) and enjoy having the time to read the old fashioned way.
Read Vanity Fair. Read books. Make up stories about the tourists on the boat. Feel superior to the tourists on the boat. Wonder who lives in those houses on the Gulf Islands. Wonder when I’m going to own Morpheus Island. Drink coffee. Feel smug about getting a good seat. Feel smug about being a transit-taking foot passenger.
Well, actually that’s what I do ALL THE TIME anyway.
