Kayak for a Cure 2012 in Vancouver and Victoria (benefiting InspireHealth)

As you know, not only do I profile non-profit organizations and charitable events and fundraisers often, but I also have a very personal connection with cancer (I have lost friends and family to the disease). This time, I am profiling a wonderful event: Kayak for a Cure 2012. I have always wanted to paddle with Kayak for a Cure, but unfortunately, I am usually always travelling for academic conferences over the summer, and/or I’m too busy by the time this event comes around. But YOU could paddle for a cure, either in Vancouver or Victoria.

This year, in addition to hosting this fun event in Vancouver, Kayak for a Cure will also take place in Victoria. You can choose to paddle with them in one of these locations or tour around BC with Kayak for a Cure in support of InspireHealth.

This summer marks the 7th annual Kayak for a Cure event in support of British Columbians living with cancer. 100% of the funds raised from this event will go to InspireHealth. This year’s event looks set to be the most successful year yet! In 2011, our passionate Vancouver paddlers raised over $50,000 for those facing a cancer diagnosis in British Columbia. This year with two new cities on board we hope to surpass this figure!

This summer adventure is open to paddlers of all levels – kayak guides are on hand on the day to guide you from one side of the bay to the other. These morning paddles will be followed by a fabulous beach party and delicious lunch for all participants! This is one summer day that you will not forget!
