I have voted in Mexico’s 2012 Federal, State and Municipal Election

Every single federal election (at least the last 3), I have lived outside of Mexico. While Mexicans can now vote abroad, it’s a coincidence that I was able to vote in this year’s federal and state-level election (well, actually it’s for all 3 levels – federal, state and municipal). For me, making the most of my civic duties is a right, a pleasure and a responsibility. I teach Public Policy, and it would look really BAD if I, the professor, weren’t actually exercising my democratic civic rights and didn’t vote. I always keep telling my students in Canada that if they don’t vote (when they have the right and capability), they thus forfeit the right to complain about their government.
