Chill Winston (Gastown)

So, I used to have an issue with Chill Winston. Yeah, I had a really bad experience there a few years ago. And then tonight my friend Robyn Hanson and I decided to go for drinks to Chill Winston (full disclosure: after we found out that Six Acres didn’t open until 5pm, The Diamond didn’t open until 5:30pm, Guilt and Co. was closed, so was L’Abbattoir). So we kind of went well, if we MUST, Chill Winston: you’ll do”. And I have to report – I absolutely LOVED IT.

Drinks were reasonably priced ($7-11 for good, strong 2 oz pours and sophisticated/complicated drinks) and the ambiance was fantastic. The music rocked, and we had a wonderful time. Admittedly, it is quite likely that we had such a great time because Robyn and I share so many viewpoints on things, we come from similar academic backgrounds. But the reality is, Chill Winston offered us a really relaxing environment, and good drinks. The service was fantastic (Nick, sorry we focused on your Green Lantern tattoo, we totally nerded out).

So yeah, Chill Winston: I think we’re good. I think it’s about time I come back more often.
