#DineOut with @hummingbird604 and @eatDockside
I love the Dockside restaurant on Granville Island, and you all knew this. I came here for the first time, I think, when my good friend KG celebrated her birthday, many moons ago (heck, I think I was still doing my MBA!?). And then JT took me here for one of our Valentine’s Day celebrations. And then we came here randomly because we needed to have dinner on Granville Island. And I’ve come here for brunch with LJ before (a good Mexican friend whom, sadly, I have lost all touch with). So, all around, this is the place I come for, in the good and in the bad, particularly when I need a good patio to relax and have good wine and food.
The Dockside Restaurant offers superbly prepared classic dishes in a setting like no other. Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.
The Dockside Restaurant has also been a partner of mine for years and this year for Dine Out Vancouver 2012 they have also partnered with me to give a lucky reader of mine the opportunity to enjoy dinner for two (drinks, taxes and gratuities excluded) at the Dockside Restaurant. This should be a very fun experience. This is the Dockside menu for Dine Out ($28).

Best time to go is when the Market opens at 9 am. I like to ride the water taxi over, get a cup of coffee at JJ Bean, and wander around the stalls until the crowd arrives.
Favourite granville island activity is to grab a tea and lunch from the public market and sit on the dock and watch the people walk by!

When I go to Granville Island, it’s usually to see a performance at one of the live theatres.
Maiwa’s art supply store has the most inspiring colours.

My favorite activity is to take the Aqua Bus there with my boyfriend and buy some meat to cook for dinner. I also love buying art supplies at Opus to work on my artistic side
I enjoy taking the Granville island transportation back and forth between the island and Yaletown.

Well I haven’t been in a long time but I use to LOVEEE going there for the kid’s market and play the arcade upstairs hahaha đŸ˜€
I love going to the market and have some freshly steamed clams!! Mmmmm. And then pick out the oh so pretty and fresh produce!

My favourite Granville Island activity would be lunch in the market, preluded and followed by taking in all the market’s sights, smells, and sounds, and walking along False Creek back to Main Street Skytrain Station.

Definitely theatresports with a dinner first, preferably at the market. And if I have a whole day I love walking from Granville Island to Vanier Park and back along the seawall.
My partner and I visit Granville Island every Sunday morning and have our coffee and egg sandwiches outside. I love visiting Emily Carr galleries.
