Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craigslist Cantata

Who, in Vancouver, has never been to the website Craigslist? I have, dozens of times. That’s where I gave away some of my furniture. The Craigslist website has provided people with a lot of different experiences. It’s a fun site, with an enormous reach and now it has inspired the upcoming performance at The Arts Club: Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craigslist Cantata.

Irregular hats for cats, mounted lobsters, autographed copies of the Bible: this premiere from composer Veda Hille and the CBC’s Bill Richardson explores what humanity has to offer and turns it into sidesplitting musical fare. Who wouldn’t want a broken time machine, for free? Come and take a look at the vagaries and intimacies of the internet!

UPDATE: The Arts Club Theatre Company and PuSh International Performing Arts Festival are pleased to announce a one-week holdover of their production of Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craigslist Cantata.

The brainchild of Veda Hille and the CBC’s Bill Richardson, this hilarious and heartfelt song cycle has been playing to packed houses and standing ovations since it premiered last week.

You should totally check it out!
