Bite of the Rock (White Rock, BC)
And who said I only promote Vancouver? Of course not! Even though I don’t make it to White Rock nearly enough, I do have dear friends who live there. And I am SO curious to know about Bite of the Rock, which in a way is kind of like Dine Out Vancouver, but in White Rock. An incredibly nice area that is so often mistaken for *just* being on the way to Blaine, the one municipality you have to drive through to get to Seattle and Bellingham. The festival runs January 16th – February 7th, 2012.
Residents and visitors are invited to come out and ‘Taste the Flavours’ of White Rock. Bite of the Rock returns for its 6th year showcasing local restaurants and dining experiences. This year includes special waterfront hotel offers and live entertainment at most of the participating restaurants.
The 6th annual restaurant festival presented by the White Rock Business Improvement Association, features three course menus from $15.00, $25.00, $35.00 and $45.00 at eateries located throughout White Rock. This is a fantastic event to encourage to ‘Eat Down the Street’ for White Rock residents and nearby locals to venture from home for an affordable evening out! Diners have the opportunity to sample menus from over 20 White Rock restaurants. From fine dining to to international cuisine to meals for the whole family, there is something for everyone to choose from. Many of the participating restaurants also include Live Entertainment on select evenings.
And impressively, you could make a night of it and stay at the Ocean Promenade Hotel with the Bite of the Rock promotional offer of $99.00! Really nice, I totally would take advantage of this promo.

I live in White Rock now! Granted, Robyn and I have not hit the restaurants on Marine drive together, but she has gone to Ceilo’s (Tappas) and Giraffe. Just hard to eat out with only 1 income (me being a student causes that lol)
On a more picky note (don’t hate me!) you technically do not go through White Rock to get to the Peace Arch Border crossing, that is (according to resident White Rock people I’ve talked to) South Surrey. White Rock starts from North Bluff Rd (which is 16th ave) and Stayte Rd (160th). White Rock has all named streets, whereas South Surrey is numbered. lol
Yes, residents of White Rock can be quite picky but they pay to keep White Rock a separate community from South Surrey đŸ™‚
Well, yeah! Surreyites like to say that they live in White Rock (easier for friends to find them, they say) LOL! They should try paying our taxes. One and a half what they would be in South Surrey. I have lived in WR for about 50 years, and now am having to move to Surrey becaise of finances. I’ll just have to say that I live in S.Surrey/White Rock. (no such place).
