Produced by Fugue Theatre, this unique production is sure to shake your expectations of what a musical should be. The chamber operetta Supernatural Noir features

a private eye with psychic sensibilities, a businesswoman on the hunt for her missing husband, a pharmaceutical partnership worth millions and a formula that disappeared.

I love this genre! I always enjoy the melodrama complete with a dangerous female who lures or tempts the hero (who in some cases ends up dead!). As for movies – the award goes to Double Indemnity as one of my all time faves.

My favourite aspect of a good film noir is the voice-over narration, e.g. “She was so gorgeous that you got bloodshot eyes just by looking at her.” Preferably delivered in a cynical, world-weary fashion….
