Movember
Fall is definitely here. Some people, like me, hold out for a very few small joys over the winter in wait for spring again. Much overlooked in my perceived calendar is the month of November; What ever happens in November?
A whole culture has risen out of the perfect month to bundle up, huddle together as a community, and grow some facial hair. Movember is coming. That’s right, a slew of celebrities, NHL hockey stars, and men in our communities are dedicating their faces to the cause of Prostate Cancer Research fundraising.
Movember – The month formerly known as November, where men grow a moustache for 30 days to raise funds and awareness for the fight against prostate cancer.
On Wednesday night, Mo Bros and Sistas joined together to celebrate and learn together. Representatives from Prostate Cancer Canada and fundraising gurus got together to discuss the incredible need that cancer patients and researchers face. The need for awareness still exists considering many men have never been tested.
The campaign is simple and has 2 basic rules:
1. Grow a mustache in November. Start with a clean face, see how it goes.
2. Talk to people about it. Spread the word, collect donations, and involve your friends and community in the worthy cause.
When the month is over, the city will be filled with stylish and creative mustaches. Participants and supporters will come together for a festive party of celebration for the massive amounts of money being directed into battling cancer. Don’t miss your chance to sign up! Register here.
