Beaver tails in Montréal

Beaver tails. I did not realize that was the name of this delicious quickly-fried dough, which in Mexico we probably would call “suela” (sole). In the Mexican version, you cover the dough with salty/savoury stuff, like refried beans, ground meat, chili, etc. In the Canadian version (at least the ones I saw in Montréal) you cover them with sweet stuff. I ordered a beaver tail with banana and nutella in my most recent trip to Montréal, and I absolutely loved it. Crepes? Who remembers crepes when you have beaver tails? And apparently, this dessert is very “Canadiana”.
