Wave of Pink Rally at the Burnaby School Board today 5pm
GLBT are inherently important issues to me, and thus I want to promote an event happening tonight at 5pm. Information lifted directly from the Facebook page.
On June 14th the Burnaby Board of Education is supposed to vote on Policy 5.45, the anti-homophobia and heterosexism policy. In order to support our trustees, and to encourage them to pass this policy on June 14th, we want to see as many people out and dressed in pink as possible. Our goal is to make this a fun and family-friendly event. I encourage you to put on your favourite pink outfit, bring your friends, families, classmates, parents, children, and allies, and come join us to sing, dance, wave signs, have fun, and show Burnaby that LGBTQ people aren’t scary!

And while you are there, introduce yourself to Chris Hitchcock and say I said “You go ,girl!” Chris is a Quaker, as I am, and she asked for support from the assembled western Canadian Quakers on May long weekend – which we unhesitatingly gave her! Families come in all manner of packages, in Burnaby and everywhere else. The Burnaby School District should support them ALL.
