Robson Square Artisan Market opening up June 4th and 5th

Unfortunately for me, I won’t be when the Robson Square Artisan Market opens up this coming weekend (June 4th and 5th, 2011) as I will be in Victoria speaking at one session and one panel at Social Media Camp Victoria 2011. But that doesn’t stop me from promoting this grassroots initiative.

We are excited to announce that this summer, Robson Square in downtown Vancouver will host a weekend Artisan Market featuring local handmade arts, crafts, floral arrangements and much more. We have partnered with Music BC to bring many of their talented members to the market to perform family-friendly entertainment, and we are inviting Non-profit groups to apply for a free booth at the market to promote their cause.

The market will open at 10 am on Saturday June 4th and continue every weekend through September 18th, 2011 (one day before my birthday!). Always free admission to the public, the Robson Square Market is expected to be a vibrant community gathering for Vancouver locals and tourists alike to experience the creativity of Vancouver artisans.

If you are a local artisan or entertainer who would like to take part in the Robson Square Artisan Market, you can find more information and application forms on the market webpage. For info on contests and update, you can follow them on Twitter @artisanmarket604, and on their Facebook Page.

Robson Square Artisan Market is being organized by Projects on Purpose, the folks who operated Canada’s Northern House Olympic Pavilion for the 2011 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
