Be a tourist in your hometown: @HiddenVancouver and @TheWestinGrand
I had been planning to do a number of giveaways related to being a tourist in your own hometown but for one reason or another, I’ve been insanely busy (if you’ve read my blog recently, you may know the reasons why). But I really wanted to get this particular one launched and luckily, The Westin Grand in Vancouver has partnered with me to offer one lucky reader of mine a package so that they can be a tourist in their own hometown. The winning package consists of a one-night stay in a one bedroom suite at The Westin Grand, Vancouver with a $75 dining credit for Hidden Tasting Bar & Social Lounge. The winner will be awarded a gift certificate for the prize which must be redeemed within one year of winning. Room reservations will be based on availability.

Seawall walk, no where else in the world can you see such scenery.
My favourite part of Vancouver is the timeless West End. I love meandering the streets & hills all around Davie, Beach, Stanley Park and English Bay, and stopping for drinks at the Sylvia. Love it!
My favourite part of Vancouver is Stanley Park. I love detouring into the park after driving over Lion’s Gate bridge. Instantly, you are out of traffic and surrounded by tall trees. A detour to Third Beach is a welcome stop.
The most beautiful part of Vancouver is Kits Beach, especially in the twilight.
The most beautiful part of Vancouver to me is the area right before the Lion’s Gate Bridge where you emerge from the park and see the bridge leading you towards the North Shore mountains.

Coal Harbour and its amazing view!
I can’t think of just a single place that could represent the amazing beauty that is Vancouver. However, one thing I love doing is to sit on a bench in Stanley Park, right along the water. In the evening, I can admire the panoramic view of this beautiful city. The sky is a perfect red-purple tone, and the water reflects not only the sky, but the radiant colours of the rainbow emitting from various buildings. With a lush green forest sitting behind, and an endless body of water in front, there is no better feeling than knowing I am so privileged to call this my home.
Nothing better then sitting out on my deck staring out at the Westend during street parties, festivals, olympic and canuck celebration and more……love it!
Spanish banks – ships, beaches, boats and mountains
If I have to pick one spot, Jericho Beach will be it. So I have to make sure to visit it again soon!
I completely agree with Coal Harbour. That’s my dream location to live, stunning views.
The first breath you take after you leave the airport. The smell of the lush rainforest combined with the ocean air is intoxicating if you haven’t smelled it for a while. It’s there all the time, but we get used to it, like a dependable old lover. But that first hit of salt, green and rain-it’s love all over again!
The most beautiful part of Vancouver is my wife.
I find this very difficult to make a choice! I love Vancouver, Stanley Park or Coal Harbour or the North Shore (if that counts). I will go with
Spanish Banks. Love the Ocean, and I love this blog!

I recently moved to False Creek and have absolutely fallen in love with the neighborhood!!! I have taken up daily walks to Granville Island with my baby boy – rain or shine 🙂

My friend from China came to Vancouver and he described it as being a “Garden City”. Nothing beats the fresh air, majestic mountains and beautiful waters. On a sunny day, I always want to walk along the Stanley Park seawall.

If we’re talking about a place, I’d probably have to say Stanley Park. It is just absolutely beautiful! But Vancouver as a whole, I’d have to say the proximity of nature within the city! Not many people get that and we are truly lucky to be able to live here in Vancouver! We are soo spoiled haha
The serenity and views from Jericho Beach make this spot my favorite for a long walk on a fine day. The hustle and bustle of Main Street make that neighborhood my favorite all other times!
I’ve always enjoyed the drive on Granville Street. Just before you hit South Granville coming into the city you get that great vista of the city followed by the North Shore Mountains. AMAZING!
