I’m a very big supporter of Carousel Theatre. This past summer, they offered a number of free performances and their theatre productions are targeted primarily to youth and families, as indicated on their About Page. I found out about their production just this morning. Normally, I would be on-the-ball and checking what’s going on the theatre scene, but I’ve been so busy with marking!

Carousel Theatre, now in its 36th season, stages a mainstage season of theatre specifically for young people and their families. In its early years, the company performed at several different venues in Vancouver including the Arts Club Seymour Street and the Vancouver East Cultural Centre before moving to our home on Granville Island, where we operate a small arts complex that includes administrative offices and two rehearsal halls. Carousel is one of the long-term resident tenants at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island.

My good friend Annemarie Tempelman-Kluit (aka YoyoMama.ca) recently published a review on her site of Seussical The Musical (written by a guest blogger) and apparently the show has been terrific so far. I hope to have a chance to check it out, because I’m a fan of Carousel Theatre. And I love musicals.
