Union Gospel Mission + Glowbal Restaurant Group will serve 5,000 meals at their annual summer BBQ in Oppenheimer Park (August 11th, 2012)

I love front-line volunteering, and I usually help serve meals for folks in the Downtown East Side in Vancouver, but this year I’m not in Vancouver for the annual Union Gospel Mission and Glowbal Restaurant Group BBQ in Oppenheimer Park. I have volunteered for this event in previous years and it is a lot of fun, and really heart-warming. If you have a chance to participate and volunteer, I strongly recommend that you do. You will come out of it a different person.

The Menu
• 5,000 gourmet hamburgers
• 900 pounds of coleslaw
• 900 pounds of fruit salad
• 5,000 bags of chips
• 5,000 cans of ice tea
