Winners Circle 2012: A Day at the Races Charity Event
I am, as most people know, a sucker for charities and non-profits. So when I got wind of Winners Circle 2012: A Day at the Races Charity Event, I figured I had to write about it. Even if I’m not one to go to the races, my friend Lorraine Murphy loves going to the Hastings Racecourse and I know it’s becoming sort of a not-to-be-missed summer activity.

Gates Open at 1:30 | First Race at 1:50
The first annual Winners Circlee – Day at the Race chartiy event will include a cocktail-style appetizer buffet, complimentary cocktail upon arrival, race program, musical entertainment and a silent auction while enjoying the ponies and weiner dog races. Tickets are $55 per person. Dress is derby attire.
I was really touched to learn that Winners Circle 2012: A Day at the Races Charity Event is a fundraiser for New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society. My good friend Liv Hung loves horse riding and thus I am sure she’ll also find this charity relevant.
New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society is an incorporated charitable foundation that was founded in November 2002 at Hastings Park Racecourse, British Columbia. New Stride’s goals are to ensure that each and every noncompetitive and injured Thoroughbred racehorse gets a second chance and is placed into a caring adoptive home. They involve and educate volunteers in the care, maintenance, handling and retraining of the horses. New Stride provides an alternative to auction for owners who find they can no longer care for their horses. Visit us online at New Stride for more information.

Looks like such a nice event and a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
I’m not sure I’ll be in the city then, but it does sound awesome.
