Slayage: The Journal of the Whedon Studies Association 2012 Conference (University of British Columbia, July 12-15, 2012)

As an academic who studies public policy, I always have found it funny that there is an academic journal (Slayage) dedicated to study Joss Whedon’s work. There MUST be something relevant to be studied if there is a full journal that studies Buffy The Vampire Slayer, for sure (Buffy was always my first image of a young, pretty empowered female who killed vampires, very well portrayed by Sarah Michelle Gellar). This year, the bi-annual conference takes place at my alma mater and the university where I have been teaching for the past 6 years (UBC), from July 12th through 15th.
