I have written about parks in British Columbia and in the Lower Mainland (not only Vancouver’s parks) for a very long time, and it’s probably my fault that whenever JT and I discuss where we should go for a walk, he answers back “well, given that you wanted to blog about just about every single one of them, I think we’ve pretty much run out of parks in Vancouver”. Yeah, I agree with him. Sometimes he would actually suggest a specific park if I hadn’t written about it. So I’m always delighted as Canada’s Parks Day approaches (usually the third Saturday of July (in 2012, falls on July 16th.

First celebrated in 1990, Canada’s Parks Day is an opportunity for Canadians to participate in one of hundreds of unique and fun events taking place in parks and sites from coast to coast to coast.

I hope you take this opportunity to enjoy all of British Columbia’s and Canada’s parks, and celebrate National Canada’s Parks Day. And a question to you all? which is your favorite park in Canada? I am honestly partial to Panorama Park in Deep Cove, as most of those of you who read my blog know. But I also like Qualicum Park in Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island.
