The Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver 2012 (17th Edition)

Frankly, I have never been one for popularity contests. You know, it’s always nice when I am the Top something. I used to be the top-ranked food blogger on UrbanSpoon. I was nominated in the Canadian Weblog Awards for 2009 and 2010, and I’ve been used to being consistently top-ranked on Klout, Kred, Grader, etc. But despite how nice this feels, I really don’t give much credence to these popularity contests.

Except for The Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver 2012.

For some reason, this year I do feel as though part of me would like to be part of the competition, and who knows, maybe to win. You need to vote in at least 25 categories for your ballot to count. And regardless of whether I win or not, I always have a lot of fun when I read the Best of Vancouver, so I am guessing the 2012 edition will be equally fun.
