Live at The ‘Bolt: DJ Leanne & Co. (The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Burnaby)
I am pretty sure I met DJ Leanne (GirlOnWax) way before she was as popular as she is (and she still looks as gorgeous as the first time I met her!). I have seen her spin at Vancouver venues for a very long time (I was introduced to her by my good friend LMcT, who also wanted to learn how to be a deep house DJ). And now that I have realized that I don’t write nearly enough about Burnaby, it was very timely that I found out about Live at The ‘Bolt: DJ Leanne & Co.
DJ Leanne the “GirlOnWax” has been DJing since the early 90s. She’s a solid contributor to Canada’s thriving DJ scene through her creation of Western Canada’s first DJ School, House Music radio shows and owner of the critically acclaimed DJ company: GirlOnWax Events, Vancity’s leading MUSIC STYLISTS. Leanne has spun alongside the best in the business: Kaskade, Deep Dish, Boy George, Armand Van Helden, Bob Sinclair and Mark Farina to name a few. Local DJ to the stars, Leanne has had many celebrity clients like Jennifer Aniston, Goldie Hawn and the Canucks! Her award-winning DJs and musicians perform for nightclub, corporate, weddings, fashion, retail, restaurant and fundraising events. GOW’s musical repertoire is massive, from lounge to house to retro to an expansive playlist of dance remixes of all genres. DJ Leanne creates the ultimate musical environment, designed especially for you.
This event promises to be an excellent show. I have listened to DJ Leanne before, and she is perhaps one of the best DJs of her generation, worldwide. And she is a Vancouver girl!
