Vancouver Spring Sprint 2012 in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation (May 27th)
As cancer is one of the key topics I write about (I have lost too many loved ones to cancer), and thanks to the lovely folks of Breakfast Television for reminding me, I figured I should highlight next Sunday’s Vancouver Spring Sprint 2012 (May 27th) in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation.
Date: Sunday, May 27, 2012
Location: Burnaby Lake, Rugby Club, 3760 Sperling Ave
Registration: 10am
Start: 11am
Distance: 2.5km or 5km walk/fun run
Who We Are: A dedicated team of volunteers, patients, survivors, family members, health care professionals and staff, determined to make the journey with a brain tumour one full of hope and support. We work collaboratively to serve the needs of those Canadians affected by all types of brain tumours.
What We Do: Information, education and support is available and research continues into the cause of and a cure for brain tumours.
Every year, thousands of Canadians affected by brain tumours find emotional support and comfort while gaining a better understanding and knowledge of their disease through a range of programs and services available across the country. This includes: up-to-date brain tumour information material, numerous education events and support groups. Important brain tumour research is also supported through annual grants, a fellowship and the brain tumour tissue bank. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is funded entirely through generous donations from individuals, corporations, and employee groups as well as through memorial gifts, planned giving and special events.
