After Jerusalem (Solo Collective)

AFTER JERUSALEM: A Different Kind of Christmas Story
November 30 to December 11 at Performance Works, Granville Island
Opening Night Thursday, December 1, 8pm
Tickets on VancouverTix

Among the local theatre plays I had committed to write about and promote is After Jerusalem by Solo Collective. It’s a pleasure to write about this play in particular as my friend Lois Dawson is the Stage Manager for Solo Collective’s After Jerusalem. I’m excited about it and I am hoping to check it out, depending on my schedule (it’s almost finals season at UBC).

A middle-aged woman travels to Israel during the Christmas season to find love and adventure, only to get tangled up with an ambitious Israeli soldier with big dreams. From the playwright who penned the dark comedies “My Chernobyl” and “The Project”, this poignant comedy plays homage to old movies and new flames.

I am hoping you will be able to take in some of the amazing theatre that Vancouver’s arts community has put out for you for this holidays season.
