White Christmas (@TheArtsClub) – Win tickets!
Given that I had planned my blogging hiatus a long while ago, I figured I’d start doing the Christmas/holidays giveaways a bit early so that I could actually spend my holidays, completely free. And since I know most of you are already planning for the holidays (heck, have you seen the commercials on TV already?!) I figured I’d remind you of the wonderful musical White Christmas, put together by The Arts Club. I have seen this musical before a few times, and this year will hopefully not be the exception. I think everyone I know loves White Christmas, and I’m sure you’ll definitely have your heart warmed with this fantastic production.
For one lucky reader of mine, I have a pair of tickets to opening night, December 7th at 8pm at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage (on 12th and almost Granville).

During the academic year I work so hard with teaching, research and consulting, that I really look forward to the holiday season in December. Seeing the absolute elation on my children’s faces as they wake us up on Christmas morning. This Christmas will be extraodinarily special as I will be home all morning to share this with them! The past few years, I have been conscripted to work the morning of Christmas day!
My current company has a tradition of giving us extra vacation time between Christmas and New Year’s. This is great to allow time to travel.
I love how much fun the boys have with the anticipation of Christmas. I write letters every day in advent letting them know what we are going to do for the day. We try to do fun things like going to VanDusen or making ornaments.
I enjoy the family togetherness. Plus my mom still does up a Christmas stocking for me to open on Christmas morning. It’s great. 🙂 Christmas time is filled with so much love.
I love the social activities that take place before Christmas. I love how people reach out to get in touch with people they haven’t seen in a while.
i love that people are generally a little kinder during the holidays and that there is a special feeling in the air, even when its cold and rainy outside.
I love seeing everyone get all excited.
My nephews live in Boston, and some years Christmas is the only time we get to spend together. I look forward to it all year!
Time off with my family means a lot to me!

Well my birthday is also in December so I love PRESENTS muahahahaha! Really though I love the tradition of decorating the tree on my birthday, sharing a good meal and drinks with my family and kick starting the holiday season!
We love doing stockings and we wrap each item!
I love spending time with family and flying away to an exotic destination during the holidays.
I love how excited my kids are about Christmas. It’s like getting to be a kid again.
I love the twinkly lights and the way my son gets SO EXCITED when he sees them. Oh yes, and the food, friends and family.

Being that my family is Muslim and didn’t celebrate Christmas, growing up I was fortunately always invited to my friends’ family’s homes to celebrate with them and it allowed me to experience a myriad of traditions (and Turkey stuffings…) The holidays are about sharing, and that’s what I love most.
I just love how everyone seems to get wrapped up in the spirit of the holidays – people tend to be kinder, they laugh more, they spend more time with loved ones, they are more aware of the hardships faced by those less fortunate and are more giving. I wish this feeling would linger all year!
The lights to brighten the dark days…and “White Christmas” is my favourite Christmas movie and song. I love love love it, have my own copy and watch it 2 or 3 times every Christmas.

The lead up to Christmas is almost better than the day itself. There’s a special feeling in the weeks prior- people are in good spirits, excitement is all around. There’s a movement towards home, family, comfort. Baking, decorating, giving, relationships, beautiful food…these are all things I love most about Chrismas and am most grateful for.
