Arts Umbrella Splash 2011 at Performance Works Saturday October 15th

If there is one day when I regret having to travel is this Saturday. One of the most fun friends I have (Jonny Staub, the mid-day DJ for The Beat 94.5 FM) is MC-ing an amazing fundraiser this weekend (which means you still can get your tickets for tomorrow’s event): Splash, the arts auctioning/gala/fundraiser for Arts Umbrella.

Splash is Vancouver’s most established charitable art events featuring a stunning collection of works by some of Canada’s most prominent artists. The event is truly an experience, a feast for the senses, including a cocktail reception, a fine wine and food experience, performances by Arts Umbrella students, a hot DJ revving the party up and of course, 100 engaging contemporary artworks. More than 500 guests attend for the chance to bid on coveted artworks, raising much-needed funds for Arts Umbrella.

Established artists whose creative works will be auctioned off at the Splash Gala will include Gordon Smith, Ross Penhall and Bobbie Burgers.

I had a chance to give a quick tour of the VIP event (I couldn’t stay long as I was triple-booked. I hope my photo set can give you an idea of the amazing art that will be auctioned. This promises to be a fantastic event not to be missed.
