Maclure’s Cabs 100th Anniversary
As Dianne Chow, Cathy Browne and I (Anabelle) walked through the exhibit of Maclure’s Cabs 100th anniversary party on October 5th in the Studio 700 at the CBC, we overheard someone say: “Maclure’s is older than the NHL”.
A taxi company that’s older than one of the biggest Canadian institutions is something to be proud of, and pride is something that came plentiful during this anniversary party.
It was a busy evening: a scavenger hunt, speeches, videos, announcements, music by the Dal Richards Band and even a break dance show.
It was amazing to see many of the company’s employees be honoured for their long services and how much Maclure’s values its drivers and customers. The even was well-attended by a lot of Vancouver bloggers and I had the chance to meet a few of them.
The food was fantastic (I wish I had noted the name of the many caterers present), the entertainment plentiful and they even came up with a blue drink to honor Maclure’s color of choice: a martini-style cocktail made of vodka, blue curacao, soda water and blueberry juice.
Congratulations to Maclure’s for your 100 years of service to the Vancouver community!
Disclaimer: Anabelle attended the event onthe invitation that the Maclure’s Cabs team extended to Hummingbird604. A write-up was not expected nor required. Raul maintains editorial control at all times.
