Heart As Arena at The Cultch (giveaway)

Lovers of contemporary dance take note: Dana Gingras of Animals of Distinction is in town for a short stint at The Cultch to present her newest creation, Heart As Arena.

The intent with Heart As Arena is to bring the language of the heart back to the body; to focus on the physical aspects of the heart itself — creating a choreographic language of the heart that manifests itself through the bodies of the performers. While exploring the intensity of love, transmission, reception, and communication, Heart As Arena also aims to peel off the tired cultural clichés that surround and suffocate the heart.

So basic, but a full-fledged smile is both a physical and emotional act.

I have very expressive eyes, so you can tell how I’m feeling.

I hate to sound like a cliche given the nature of this giveaway, but I’d have to say by dancing. There have been times of stress in my life where I’ve never felt so grounded and at peace as when I’m dancing.
