Ride the Cyclone at the Revue Stage (The Arts Club and Atomic Vaudeville)
Victoria’s Atomic Vaudeville Theatre is presenting Ride the Cyclone at the Revue stage on Granville Island starting this week. This will be the first showing outside of Victoria on this tour, as the play moves across the country towards Toronto. [EDITOR’S NOTE – Elliott Loran is a friend of Raul (me) so this play is particularly special, as Elliott has a role in the show). And of course, who doesn’t love a show with rollercoasters!
The premise is a bit eerie – a Saskatchewan high school chamber choir die suddenly in a roller-coaster ride accident. A mechanized fortune telling machine is able to give them one last chance to say goodbye as a final chorus, and the ghosts express their goodbyes and exit their short lives.
Cross Glee with a freak show and what do you get? Ride the Cyclone, probably the most uproarious and outrageous piece of musical theatre Canada has ever produced… -Globe and Mail

My favourite rollercoaster to ride – none! I can’t tolerate them due to vertigo. But I love the look of the ones at California Adventure in Disneyland. And there’s the classic Space Mountain in Disneyland, which I love the concept and nostalgia of, so I’ll list that one.
When I visited Victoria a couple months ago, I met someone who gave me, unasked, a very positive recommendation for this show, so I’d love to see it.
I went on a roller coaster ride once…..then to be husband said “its just a little ride – nothing scary!”….NEVER again….
That’s easy: the Coaster at Playland. Love that rickety fast old thing!

I love roller coasters! I just came back from a trip to Disneyland, so I’ll have to say that Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain are very close to my heart right now.
So looking forward to seeing this show–I’ve heard amazing things!
I love the Coaster at Playland. The only one I have ever ridden but always gets my adrenaline going! Durng Frightnights the Coaster doesnt have lights on so it is extra scary!
