Tuesdays with Morrie

After having worked at a bookstore for 3 years, I can name a few key books that people really responded to. Tuesdays with Morrie is one of the most raved about books, with some customers even coming though the line with a stack of them to give away to friends. This heart-string-tugger book is definitely appealing to the sensitive souls of the world. Now that Mitch Albom has collaborated with Jeffery Hatcher to make this book come alive in theatre, the expectations are certainly high. This is basically a reenactment of Albom’s visits with a dying professor and the wisdom that is passed down to him. It’s the re-telling of a teacher-student relationship between these two men that runs deep and strong.

Being scared to do a music performance, one of my teachers at a summer camp said: “Forget everything everyone has told you.” I love that advice as I think that we tend to get caught up in thoughts rather than the music we are trying to play.
I know it’s cheesy, but my English teacher who actually introduced Tuesdays with Morrie to us in high school told us that everyone is amazing in their own right — we just have to not be afraid to show it.
You have to figure out who you are on your own before you can know who you are with somebody else. Thanks to my good friend of seven years.
