EAT! Fraser Valley

The weekend of September 16 – 18, coming out to the Fraser Valley – a place already renowned for it’s famous top-quality produce, dairy, and meat — will be the EAT! Fraser Valley fair. This food fair will feature over 100 different local shops, artisans, vendors and producers. This coming together really brings together the highilghts of this already fantastic area of BC for agriculture and food production.

Presented by Food Network Canada, this event will feature celebrity chefs, appy-sized bites of local restaurants dishes, and (most excitingly for me!) a LIVE Iron Chef Canada-style face-off. That’s right – chefs competing in front of the audiences eyes during all three days of the festival.

As someone who dreams of being on the panel, or even the audience of Iron Chef, this is probably the best attraction possible other than the actual food itself. Keeping witht the theme of Iron Chef, past Canadian winners will be featured on the celebrity chef stage including Vancouver’s own Rob Feenie and Montreal chef Chuck Hughes of Chuck’s Day Off.

If you are looking to come to the event, I would recommend bringing your favourite Food Network junkie, a mind ready for culinary inspiration, and an empty stomach.

The 4th annual EAT! Fraser Valley Food + Cooking Festival is happening Friday to Sunday, September 16-18 at the TRADEX Fraser Valley Trade & Exhibitor Centre in Abbotsford.

Hummingbird604 will be hosting TWO contests for EAT! Fraser Valley.
First off, a pair of tickets to EAT! Fraser Valley is up for grabs. To enter, Comment about your favourite  local treat. Mine would be Birchwood vanilla ice cream for blistering, hot, sunny Abbotsford afternoons. Or tweet:

“I entered to win a pair of tickets to @EATFraserValley via @Hummingbird604! http://is.gd/lvlS8J”

The second prize is a one night stay at Clayburn Village B&B in Abbotsford. Clayburn Village B&B will be at EAT! Fraser Valley as well. To enter, comment on what you love about Abbotsford or why you would love to go if you haven’t been! Or tweet:

“I entered to win a one night stay at @Clayburnbnb in Abbotsford, BC via @Hummingbird604 & @EATFraserValley! http://is.gd/lvlS8J”

Good luck to everyone who enters our draws! Contests close Wednesday September 14th at 1PM.

We love Iron Chef and an Iron Chef Canada-style face-off like this would be the closest we would get to going to it! What fun!

I’d love to be entered for the B&B stay at Clayburn Village B&B! I love Abbotsford because of the slower pace, the numerous farms and friendly people that live there :)

Entry for the bed and breakfast prize: Abbostford is a favourite of mine to visit because of the farms, local produce and it’s raspberry capital! I looked on the Clayburn Village bed and breakfast website and it looks like an amazing place to stay with great history. I’d love to use that as my home base to do a circle farm tour!
