Vancouver International Fringe Festival: Fortunate Son
Fortunate Son tells the huge story of the Trudeau family, a story that touches and affects Canadians across the country. Playing for two weeks in September, this will definitely be a show to see for anyone interested in Canadian history, politics, and family matters. This performance is presented by Rolling Stock theatre company, a nonprofit theatre organization. The show is part of Vancouver International Fringe Festival, but I expect it will be very much on the heavier side of the spectrum, as opposed to many of the hilarious and entertaining other plays at the festival.
Set after the state funeral for Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Fortunate Son is about how his son Justin gave a speech and inherited a nation. Written by Peter Boychuk. Directed by Fran Gebhard. Starring Michael Armstrong and Drew Staniland.
You should check it out, we will be reviewing a number of the Vancouver International Fringe Festival 2011 shows, including Fortunate Son.
