1st Annual Tri-Cities Walk for ALS

If you’re around Coquitlam this Saturday August 13th, you should stop by Lafarge Lake and participate in the 1st Annual Tri-Cities Walk for ALS.

While it’s too late to participate in the walk itself, there will be plenty of activities for the whole family: live local bands, a “Kid’s Zone” with a bouncy castle and a dunk tank, performers and a variety of local vendors.

ALS (Lou Gehrig’s) is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the person’s motor neurons that carry messages to the muscles resulting in weakness and wasting in arms, legs, mouth, throat and elsewhere. Typically the person is immobilized or deceased within two to five years of the initial diagnosis.

Please do stop by and take part in this fundraiser for a great cause; there will be plenty to do for everyone in the family. Visit their Facebook page for more information or follow them on Twitter @TriCityWalk4ALS
