Beat the Street: Asian Drum Festival + Remix 2011
Vancouver Asian Heritage Month is launching their 15th Anniversary of explorASIAN in Metro Vancouver with BEAT THE STREET: Asian Drum Festival + Remix. This event takes placed on May 1st, at the CBC Outdoor Stage from 12 pm – 4:30 pm and will feature Japanese and Korean drumming, Filipino dancing, Persian ensemble and much more. This promises to be a great free, outdoor drumming concert which will launch the series of other events that take place in May for Asian Heritage Month. The participating includes (but is not limited to):
· Tetsu Taiko (Japanese)
· Cheondoong (Korean)
· Kathara (Filipino)
· Persian
· Reyhan Turkish-Arabic trio
· Mohamed Assani
· Vince Mai
Beat the Street will launch on May 1st, this coming sunday, at the CBC Plaza on the corner of Hamilton and Georgia, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. It is a free event and you should totally check it out.
