Dance Up a Storm for the Food Bank! (Urban Beat Dance Fundraiser) Dec 19th
My good friend Rebecca Coleman mentioned the “Dance Up a Storm for the Food Bank!” Fundraiser by Urban Beat Dance and I think I should promote it! I did take dance lessons at some point with Urban Beat Dance, and I absolutely adore the Vancouver Food Bank as a charity of choice for fundraising.
Urban Beat Dance Company is pleased to present their Annual Christmas Food Bank Fundraiser Swing Dance, December 19th, 2010. The Urban Beat Dance crew hosts a night of performance, lessons, prizes and dancing the night away, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The fundraiser runs from 8 pm until late at 927 Granville Street in downtown Vancouver.
If you’ve always wanted to learn to swing dance, the evening starts with an all-ages-welcome Beginner’s Funky Swing Lesson from 8:00 until 8:45pm, followed by swing, hip hop, tango, belly dancing performances from 9:30 until 10. Then dance the night away with your new-found skills. Come for the cause, stay for the fun!
There will be an amazing prize package raffled off (courtesy of CBC). The prize includes:
· 2 gift certificates for Milestones
· 2 gift certificates for Provence Marinaside
· 2 gift certificates for The Shark Club
· 2 gift certificates for Las Margaritas
· 4 tickets to VanDusen’s Festival of Lights
So take a beginners lesson, watch the show, meet new people of all ages, and know that your whole $10 is going to provide food for those who really need it this Christmas. Everyone wins! Urban Beat Dance Company’s annual Food Bank Fundraiser takes place on Sunday, December 19 from 8 pm until midnight at 927 Granville Street. Admission is by donation (suggested $10), cash only, at the door, and all proceeds go to the Food Bank
