The Outpost Cafe (Mount Pleasant/Riley Park)

The Outpost Cafe (Fraser and King Edward) Remember that old post where I said that, much as Fraser Street was gentrifying and getting nicer and that we needed more coffee shops on Fraser Street? Well, Katharine (the owner of The Outpost Cafe) was kind enough to read my suggestion and she went ahead and opened a coffee shop (with wifi and all) at Fraser and 24th. Which is something this neighbourhood needed, quite a lot!

The Outpost Cafe (Fraser and King Edward)

The Outpost Cafe is located almost at the corner of 24th and Fraser at 3992 Fraser Street, and is a locally-owned coffee shop, with free wifi, and a fantastic selection of tea. I went there with my good friend Emme Rogers on a walk and we had an opportunity to enjoy a lovely coffee. The peppermint tea was very strong from what Emme tells me and she loved it.

The Outpost Cafe is on Twitter (@TheOutpostCafe) and they also have a website. Kudos to them (please don’t overwhelm them on the first week since they opened only this weekend – I know that many of my readers will be keen to visit them, but please be kind and patient to them).

They’re opening a Starbucks at the Century development on Fraser and 29th, but I much prefer these little mom-and-pop type coffee shops. Thanks for the heads-up. ๐Ÿ™‚
