Cyoni Orange Juice (review)

I went to Elysian Coffee earlier this year to have coffee with my good friend Dave Macdonald and instead of ordering coffee (because I was already over-caffeinated), I ordered a freshly-squeezed orange juice. It was a brand I had never heard of before, Cyoni. And I absolutely loved it. Yesterday, I went for lunch with a friend to the Vancouver Art Gallery Cafe (blog post review forthcoming) and I had another one.

I have to say, every time I drink a Cyoni orange juice, I love it. The part that I love the most is that it tastes very, very fresh and that it has LOTS of pulp (sorry, I like my orange juice with pulp). I loved it so much that I decided to write about it. I’m also delighted by the fact that it’s a local company, and that their mission statement includes training youth. Read their About Us page:

CYONI, established during EXPO 86 in Vancouver, Canada, was created for two reasons: to provide truly freshly squeezed juices in a way that nobody had yet attempted; and as a job creation and training program to give youths first time work experiences.

We squeeze all our juices only after you order them, and deliver them to you the same day within hours after squeezing. In fact, the freshness of our incredible juices can only be matched if you squeezed them at home yourself.

I am hoping I’ll be able to get Cyoni OJ on a regular basis! The one I bought, was I think $2.95 for the 354 ml bottle.
