150 characters, that should be something. I was fortunate to see 8 performances at the Fringe Festival this year. They were all excellent and it is such an incredible opportunity to see talent for a relatively inexpensive price. The last performance I saw was Martin Dockery in Wanderlust…..his performance blew me away.

I recently saw two great shows at the Fringe Festival – Canary was a wonderful play about a woman who is allergic to artificial light. Sounds bizzare, but when you think about humans being inside all the time surrounded by artificial light and other electronic devices (cell phones, computers, etc…), it makes sense. It touched on some great environmental messages while remaining light and funny.

I have enjoyed many awesome live performances lately – The Busy World is Hushed at Pacific Theatre (full disclosure, I work there), Tear the Curtain!, and The Fantasticks to name a few. And I’m looking forward to Sweeney Todd on Thursday. Would love to add this show to the mix!

The last theatre production that enjoyed recently were Bard on the Beach’s Much Ado About Nothing, I’ve seen it a couple of times and loved how John Murphy just fed off the audience to deliver a fantastic comedic performance as Benedick.

Also, when you draw for the tickets, it falls on my birthday and these tickets would make a great birthday present.

I love checking out live plays in Vancouver, they seem to have replaced movies and recorded TV shows for me:)

Went to The Fantasticks last week end and it wasn’t quite my thing. I’m booked and looking forward to Greece (Screaming Chicken) and To Hell and Back: The Fantasmagoric Adventure of Helen Beck (In the House). However, the last live performances that I enjoyed were all from this year’s Vancouver Fringe Festival, Dr. Horrible’s Sing a Long Blog, 52 Pick Up, The Lost Supper and Freud vs. His Ego.

The last play I was able to catch was Glengary Glen Ross,accompanied by my daughter Megan @ The Stanley , a matinee, with a great deal of $25 front & center!It was fab!We have been to a couple of shows, even Spring Awakening in NYC, all have been matinees. It would be wonderful to be able to go to an opening & an evening show.

Haven’t been to the Arts Club since seeing Mum’s the Word Remixed last season. I think it was last season. Daughter is off to see the Fantastiks next weekend but I’m not such a fan of musicals.. Except Dr. Horrible at the Fringe, but that is more of a Joss Whedon thing..

The Putnam County Spelling Bee by the Arts Club in the summer was a wonderful production! The storylines of all the characters shows you how complex a child’s background (family, culture, etc) can be. Fantastic production!

Well, a month without the Arts Club is pretty much a month wasted…;-)

But if I’m honest the last event I saw was The Fantasticks over at the Playhouse…

Last night, I was lucky enough to be able to attend the opening night of Fighting Chance Productions’ “Sweeney Todd” at the Jericho Arts Centre. It was amazing, thrilling, and blood curdling… Such a talented cast, crew and team! Runs until October 30th!!

I was just at the opening night of “Death of a Clown” by ITSAZOO Productions at the Phoenix Theatre in Victoria. Written by Sebastian Archibald, this play was very witty and a lot of fun! The cast was just great! it was a good night!

Ok, if it’s true what they say, that all the world is a stage, then it goes without saying that everyday is a drama, a comedy, a mystery, a thriller and a romance.

However, that doesn’t answer your question, does it. The last live play I saw was at the Stanley. I can’t remember the title, so that should tell you something. It was quite a depressing piece of theatre and perhaps that’s why I have forgotten it.

I just saw a number at the Fringe show, from what I saw I think “Happily Ever After?” was my highlight. I also saw Glen Garry Glenn Ross recently at Arts club and it was great.

The last live theatre I went to was the “Lion King” with my grandkids and daughter-in-law. I take them and my new husband, to as much live entertainment as I can afford. I also attended the UBC Opera offering at Bard on the Beach this past summer. It’s all so magical.

“after the quake” by Pi Theatre at The Clutch. Quirky, off-the-wall Japanese humour dealing with serious overtones. “Froggie” of Superfrog Saves Tokyo stole the show.

The AltarBoyz at the Arts Theatre. Very funny!

Watched Glengarry Glen Ross at the Stanley Alliance over the summer and Eric McCormack blew the audience away. They called me after the show about 39 Steps and I’ve been itching to buy tickets!

The last performance I enjoyed was Cats, it was wonderful. But I am long overdue to see something new and this would be great!

It was several years ago, but one of the most enjoyable performances I’ve been to was The Number 14.

Hello and good day to you……I have just returned from a month of travels in India. 23 women travelled with Women with Wings…thru Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala. Kerala is in the far southern region of India and it was in Kochi that I viewed my last musical. Kochi is most interesting historically….think sailing ships in ancient times, trading in spices, textiles and rugs. So, the dances and songs of KathaKali are performed by a few troupes in the Olde Fort of Kochi bringing to life the stories, myths that are centuries old. Sweet memories……theatre is always one of mine.

live theatre?…It was The Wedding Singer at The Jericho Arts Centre. We took the whole family (our teenagers). It’s a small theatre so we were right in the action. Loved it!!

We saw Don Quixote and it was so good. What else could we have expected from Axis Theatre, after their Number 14? The masks are brilliant!

Last year I became a season ticket holder with the Arts Club. Enjoyed every show last season on the Granville Island stage but my favorite was the life of Edgar Allen Poe. What a tremendously creative production. Reminded me of a Tim Burton movie.

The best play I have seen for awhile is After the quake at the CULTCH
We have some amazing theatre here this relaly emphasized that The set was perfect for the play which was 90 minutes of intertwined stories and players

Out of the Flying Pan, an indie at Carousel Theatre. Otherwise tending to the hummingbird garden, the Anna’s are in full flight now that the Rufous have returned to Mex.

Last live show I saw was Nicola Cavendish in Shirley Valentine, so good I went twice.
There happened to be a series of 39 steps near my home in Scotland, about 22 miles from Perth, and we children knew that was the name of John Buchan’s story.

The last live show I saw was the International Night at the Vancouver International Improv Festival and it was really funny and impressive to see. I took my nephew and my sister and the 14 year old laughed his way through a Jane Austin send-up!

I last saw a slew of Fringe Productions. They were all amazing. 🙂

The last performance I enjoyed was “Don Quixote”. It was so good that I could watch it without the songs from “Man of La Mancha” running through my head. 🙂

It’s been too long since the last play I saw! It was during the 1st annual Neanderthal Arts Festival this summer in the cozy but beautiful Cultch.

What an amazing performing arts festival! I didn’t realize how much local talent and theatrical groups there are in Vancouver! Hope to catch more shows next year!

I saw three of the performances and the last one was “Highway 63”. It was a humourous look and an eye opener on life at the northern end of Hwy 63 in the heart of the Alberta oil sands.

The last show I saw was “Miracle in Rwanda” at Pacific Theatre during the Fringe Festival. It was absolutely amazing and has haunted me ever since.

The last performance I was lucky enough to see was the 2010 production of Much Ado About Nothing at Bard on the Beach. I’ve lived in Vancouver and enjoyed theater my entire life and had never made it to the Bard! I can’t imagine what’s kept me from it. What a fantastic treat!

(My favorite Alfred Hitchcock movie production so far is Rope. Well worth the watch.)

The number 14 was fun.

The last live show I saw was Dead Man’s Cell Phone at the White Rock Playhouse last week. It was a little morbid and a lot funny. I’m a season ticket holder and enjoy every play.

I can’t believe that I haven’t seen this one yet as I am a big Hitchcock fan and as a kid bought all the Hitchcock magazines. Would love to go to this one.

Last show saw there was Les Mis’. Most enjoyable production ever seen of it.

The last live show that I saw was the Brighton Beach Memoirs at the Gateway. I thought the cast did a terrific job with a fabulous script. Especially the young actor playing Eugene caught my attention. He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Vancouver Acting scene in a few years!!

The last live show I enjoyed was Theater under the stars Annie. I have seen several shows since but the Annie show was wonderful. All the young ladies singing “It’s A Hard Knock Life” was a great memory. It is also one of my favourite stories.
