An update on the Tsawwassen Quay Market amenities and wireless connections

Tsawwassen QuayYou may remember earlier this year I blogged about how the Tsawwassen Quay Market needed some serious improvement (particularly for those of us workaholics who need to be connected at all time). I am right now sitting at the Tsawwassen Quay Market (thanks to having missed my 3pm ferry enroute to Victoria for Social Media Camp Victoria 2010, where I will be speaking), and I found myself pleasantly surprised with two improvements here.

First, I found that my laptop can grab the BC Ferries signal when close to the terminal (I’m at the easternmost point of the terminal, where the Salt Spring Island Cafe is, and where the second surprise resides – SSI DOES have wifi). I don’t know if it will hold the signal if I move (SSI doesn’t have power adapters near by), but for now, it feels great to be able to at least download my emails, check my Twitter account, and respond to a few urgent notes).

I hope the improvements continue. A walkway from the terminal to the actual market would be outstanding.
