Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat by @TUTSVancouver

Theatre Under the Stars August 2010 007Having already had a taste of the excellent productions that Theatre Under the Stars put together this summer (I saw Singin’ in the Rain earlier last week), I was expecting a fantastic production for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. I took my friend Trevor Boudreau as my Plus One to Joseph this past weekend, as I know he loves musicals and we love attending together this type of theatre productions.

I found Joseph extremely fast-paced and dynamic, which was really good. Different to Singin’ because in Joseph, I didn’t see much of a story being told, as much as a series of fantastic musical numbers. The lead in Joseph was absolutely outstanding. Hard to believe he is 17! Director Shel Piercy and Choreographer Keri Minty as well as Music Director Kevin Michael Cripps do a fantastic job of producing Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical.

I definitely loved Joseph, and I would strongly encourage my readers to attend TUTS, as it is a very unique experience.

Disclosure: The tickets to attend Joseph for myself and my Plus One were sponsored very generously by Theatre Under The Stars. They have made it explicit that I have no obligation nor commitment to write a review at all (although, in this case, I choose to do so). I am not paid to write the review either. In any review I write, I retain editorial control at all times. Should you have any questions/concern feel free to contact me via e-mail through my contact form.
