The @Glowbal_Group BBQ Dinner for @UGM Clients in the Downtown East Side
I am a sucker for all things charitable events, and more so when they are put together by friends of mine. As you may have read on my blog, I have reviewed almost every single Glowbal Group restaurant, and have always had great experiences. Glowbal has partnered with me in giveaways and has invited me to be special guest at their events. So, when they mentioned on Twitter that they were looking for volunteers (250 for 5,000 meals) for their Texas BBQ, I jumped at the opportunity and decided to volunteer. The Union Gospel Mission is a charitable organization that provides meals and support to people in the impoverished Downtown East Side. I have always been a believer that one needs to give at all points.
I am at an amazingly high, positive point in my life, and even if I weren’t I totally would still make time to do this, because I strongly believe in karma and the power of people. So on August 10th, from 1:30pm to 5:00pm, I am going to roll up my sleeves and help the Union Gospel Mission serve meals for people in the DTES. And I would like to invite you to do so as well. You can contact UGM by emailing volunteers[AT]ugm[DOT]ca. Join the likes of Erin Ireland, Rebecca Bollwitt, Alisha Mann and myself, in a collective effort to give back to our community.
EDIT – Meals are being served at Oppenheimer Park.
