On why is it important for me that my Mom meets my friends

I have brought my Mom along to a number of events in the social media world in the past couple of weeks, although I have definitely made enough time for the two of us alone. To some people, and in fact to one of the closest friends I have, it seemed a bit bizarre that I insisted in having my Mom meet my close friends. To me, it makes perfect sense, and to most of my friends, it does too.

To my friends, it’s interesting to see who the most influential person in my life is, what she looks like, what made ME be the person I am now. To my Mom, it’s important to see the circle of people that I surround myself with. So it’s not a surprise that I’m trying desperately to fit as many of my close friends as I can and have them meet my Mom. Unfortunately we are travelling so much that this is proving insanely difficult.

But at least, I try!

Your mom rocks and I am very glad to have had the opportunity to meet her and see where you get so much of your passion and drive.

I do the same thing every single time my Mom comes to Vancouver. It might be a Latino thing!

I grew up listening to my Mom saying how important it was for her to meet my friends. Throughout my whole life, I have been friends with my Mom’s friends and vice-verse. So, even though we are generations apart, there is always a common ground for hours of conversations.

Your Mom is the cutest! I hope she is enjoying our (now) sunny city!

xoxo
