Using a laundromat (self-service laundry)
I will fully admit that having in-suite washer and dryer is quite handy. When I used to live in residence (at UBC, I lived at Fairview, St. John’s College and Green College, when I was a graduate student. Now that I am a faculty member I live off campus), I would use the self-serve laundry but it’s been a long, long time since I have lived in residence, so I totally forgot about the existence of laundromats.
Until this past week.
Mom decided that I needed to do all my laundry at once and thus we walked to find a laundromat so that we could do the whole batch of clothes in one sitting. It was the first time I set foot in a public launderette (at least, the ones outside the university). It was an experience, to be quite honest. It made me feel as though I had moved back to my student days. And I don’t want to ever go back!
