For the past three years in a row, my friend Rebecca Bollwitt and I have done Blogathon (24 hours of blogging, one blog entry every 30 minutes, for a total of 49 blog entries, raising funds for charities). While we always say we will never do it again, we seem to always feel again attracted to the event itself. I have a very special place in my mind for Blogathon as it was the event during which I got to know Rebecca.

I think Blogathon has been the one event that has solidified Rebecca and my friendship online and the event that gave us opportunities to bond offline. So, whenever we chat about Blogathon, I am always willing to help in the organization. This year, Rebecca is again organizing and I am collaborating, as is Kristi Ferguson from the Fraser Valley Pulse. We have thought of not following the Blogathon schedule strictly (July 31st is a date I can’t do it) so we settled on August 21st (when we can all do it, and just before I teach again at UBC in the fall). So, save the date! It should be fun.

You are a brave soul to do Blogathon again. Or crazy. Last year nearly killed me!
