Miracle Weekend (@BCCHF) for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation
This past weekend, as I was arriving to my office at The Network Hub I came across an envelope on my desk. As I unwrapped it, I realized it was a beautiful card made by one of the children at BC Children’s Hospital. My eyes welled and I proceeded to open it.
I have eight nieces and nephews, and I am the godfather of one of them. I adopt the children of my friends as my “adoptive” nieces or nephews. Thus, anything that has to do with great causes such as the ones championed by the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is almost always likely going to draw my attention.
Miracle Weekend is a weekend-long telethon, and from what Theodora Lamb tells me, it’s a pretty amazing experience that involves stellar storytelling. I see myself, as you know, primarily as a storyteller, and thus I wouldn’t want to miss the chance to participate.
There are many ways you can be a Superhero for Miracle Weekend, as noted on the hyperlink previous. The 2010 Miracle Weekend on Global BC airs on Saturday, June 5 starting at 7pm until 6pm on Sunday.
I will be dropping by the BC Children’s Hospital at some point over the weekend to try and meet one of the little heroes who are patients at the BCCH. I want to support this campaign in any way I can and I would strongly encourage you to support them too.
