Win tickets to opening night of Prodigals #theatre
If I could divide myself in six people (or clone myself) I totally would, because the quality of art that we get in Vancouver is amazing, and I don’t have nearly enough time to attend everything I’m invited to. But I really want to make an effort to attend this fantastic play, Prodigals. This past summer, they invited me to their performance of Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love but I was overbooked and I couldn’t make it. So I’m going to try this time.
I have been invited by Sabrina Evertt (Twenty Something Theatre) to the opening night of Prodigals, their feature play. It looks like Natalie may be my Plus One for the evening. Thanks Natalie!
From the producers who brought you last summer’s sold-out production of Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love comes a brand new play about the trials of life and love coming from small town. Set in a small bar in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, six young underachievers await the results of a murder trial that’s hit close to home. Their world of drinking, sarcasm and missed opportunities is flipped upside down when a former friend returns from Toronto to testify in the trial, reopening old wounds and creating some new ones as well.
The fantastic cast includes Timothy Johnston (Ride The Cyclone), Tara Pratt (Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love), Abby Renee Creek (Salt Water Moon, Suburbia), Aslam Husain (Anne, Secret World of Og), Brandyn Eddy (Tick, Tick…Boom!, Little Shop of Horrors) and Jameson Parker (Arms & The Man, Romeo & Juliet).
Directed by Peter Boychuk, Prodigals, is on stage at the Havana Theatre on Commercial Drive from April 27 to May 2, 2010. For ticket pricing: $20 Regular. Discount Tickets: $15 for 35 & under and 65 & older (with valid id). $10 Preview. Tickets available at the door or from Tickets Tonight or by phone at 604-684-2787.
