Win tickets to Black Grace at the Vancouver International Dance Festival #VIDF
Many of you may know that I am a trained dancer. My parents wanted their five boys (yes, five, you heard right) to be integrated people. Thus, we were supposed to do art, science, humanitarian work and sports. Everything, we had to do it putting our very all on the line. I began with piano, as all my brothers did, but I quickly switched to contemporary dance and theatre. My parents may not have been all too happy with that, but they not only approved of my decision, they supported me, attending my performances and exhibitions. Thus, I keep both theatre and dance very close to my heart.
And so when Crystal Kwon approached me to write about the Vancouver International Dance Festival, I was absolutely thrilled. As I mentioned before, I am coming back to dance this year, to competitive dance more importantly. And attending performances is one of the key things I try to do, to visualize what I may need to improve, and to keep my soul well fed. I will be attending a performance of Black Grace, and VIDF has been kind enough to give me a pair of tickets to give away for you to attend the Thursday, March 18th performance of Black Grace (see the video below).
The Vancouver International Dance Festival takes place from March 12th to 21st, 2010, with performances at the Roundhouse and the Playhouse and workshops at Harbour Dance Centre and EDAM. For tickets, call 604.662.4966 or buy tickets online here.
For a preview of Black Grace, check the video. Thanks for VIDF for sponsoring the ticket giveaway!
To enter the contest and have a chance to win, please drop a comment on this post. I will draw a winner on Friday, March 5th, at 2.30pm. So, you have plenty of time to comment and win!

Aw, thanks Raul!
Oh, my gosh, Zoë would LOVE that! She’s been asking for ballet lessons now, after seeing a girl at the bus stop practising her routine. Z watched her for two minutes, three weeks ago, and she’s still doing it at home. “Mama, watch me to mah bahyay!”
This would be awesome for my mom. She’s into dancing but never seems to actually learn it >.>
That looks pretty awesome. I’d love tix. That’s really macho-looking dance.
I’m hoping Lalala Human Steps comes back soon, because I try to see them every time. They’re mind-blowing.
Wow, the show looks amazing. I’ve never really been to any dance shows before. I did see Poetics: a ballet brut this year for the PuSh Festival and really enjoyed that.
Talk about neat! My girlfriend is the biggest fan of dance of any kind. Looks phenomenal.
