The Main Event
I’m a big promoter of my neighbourhood, so I’m always looking for stuff that’s happening in Mount Pleasant/Main Street, particularly charity events. I am delighted to hear about The Main Event, taking place from January 18th to 24th. From their website:
“The Main Event – East meets West” 2010 will include an array of Main Street’s restaurants, offering three-course tasting menus for set prices of $25, $35 and $45. All restaurants will join the fight against hunger by donating a percentage of their food receipts from this tasty, week long event to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank
Having reviewed a huge number of restaurants in the Main Street/Mount Pleasant area, I can certainly attest to the fact that this will be a great event. It’s already started and it will be going through the week. You should definitely consider attending, particularly seeing as a portion of the proceeds is going to a very important local charity, the Vancouver Food Bank.
